ART DECO DESK by DUCROT in Rio Palissander rosewood , ca 1930
Unique piece, large and authentic Art Deco Desk designed and created by DUCROT ( Italy ) ca 1930.
Signature of DUCROT is inlaid in drawer with an ivory plate.
The whole desk is made of real Rio palissander rosewood veneer on all sides, back included.
One central drawer covered with light ivory leather and lock with nickel plated lock and key.
The two side doors, with three walnut drawers on right and left sides inside, are veneered with also art deco worked nickel plate locks and keys.
Square and diagonal “palissander” rosewood marquetry on top and front doors.
The two large feet , surmounted by round feet in mahagony, are encircled by worked wrought iron plates.
All this desk is shiny varnished ( french "vernis au tampon" ) .

Vittorio Ducrot (born in Palemo-Sicilia on January 1867 , died in Roma-Italia on March 1942) , italian nationality with French origin ( his father named Victor Ducrot , his mother was Marie Roche ) created his 1rst factory-studio in 1902 in Palermo. He has been an industrialist, then a designer and simultaneously a sicilian politician. He participated in design and decoration of the most famous palace of Sicily and wealthy Sicilian private houses.
In 1929 he has been elected as a right wing Sicilian congressman until 1934.
He designed and manufactured furniture in the same time.
