La “ Verrerie des Vosges “ opened its 1rst plant near Nancy in 1919 in collaboration with the Muller Brothers glass manufacture. Wood for glass manufacture came mostly from the Darney Forest.

In this area of East of France, a rough competition between art glass factories took place at that time, particularly between André Delatte ( Verrerie de l’Est ) and the “Daum” Company.

During the 1930ies , most of products, particularly Berluzes Vases , are worked with art deco geometric shapes either by acid or by sanding.
